USV Sonar Payload Configuration: What to Include in Your Quotation

Match the deliverable to the sensor, then confirm mounting, positioning, power and software as one system. Use the TOKNAV installation videos to make the equipment list concrete.

Payload roles identified in the supplied TOKNAV product materials
TaskEquipment family in the materialsWhat to confirm
Line-based depth surveyTBoat10/20-A · TSBES single-beamCurrent sounder specification, loaded draft, minimum usable range, positioning input and export.
Two-frequency depth observationsTBoat20-G · dual-frequency single-beamExact sounder revision, the role of each frequency, usable bottom returns and required depth reference.
Swath bathymetryMultibeam installation shown in the tutorialSonar model, navigation/attitude inputs, timing, offsets, sound velocity, calibration and processing software.
Underwater imagingTBoat10/20-D · ES-series or TFSS-4510 side-scan optionsSelect the specific option; confirm mounting, imaging range, georeferencing and target verification.
Velocity profiles and dischargeTBoat20-E · RIV-series ADCPFrequency/configuration, depth cells, navigation reference, moving-bed assessment and discharge-processing method.
Water-column sound velocityTSVP profilerDeployment method, profile location and time, export and association with the sonar data.

This is a planning map based on supplied product materials, not a statement that every sensor option is included or fits every vessel. Confirm the current hardware revision and complete bill of materials. A sound-velocity sensor mounted at the sonar and a water-column profiler have different roles.

Six items to include in the equipment list

  1. Vessel and mounting: boat model, sensor bracket, permanent service mounting, loaded draft and lowest installed component.
  2. Sonar or ADCP: exact model, selected configuration, interface documentation and a current specification sheet.
  3. Navigation: positioning and, where required, heading/attitude inputs, correction access, timing and measured offsets.
  4. Power and connections: equipment-specific voltage, power budget, regulators, connectors, waterproof entries and cable support.
  5. Acquisition and processing: software versions, licenses, computer, raw recording and agreed export formats.
  6. Commissioning and handover: installation checks, calibration where applicable, field checks, training and retained records.

From shallow-water planning to quality checks

Check the complete operating envelope rather than using vessel draft alone. Agree how unmeasured areas, interpolation and rejected observations will appear in the delivery. A connected sensor is the beginning of commissioning, not its acceptance result.

Send your task, even if you have not chosen a sensor

Share your country, waterway, approximate depth range and required output. Include a preferred payload only if it is already specified.
