Multibeam USV Installation: Transducer, Sound-Velocity Sensor and Computer

See the components and connections of a TOKNAV multibeam USV installation, from the transducer bracket to the acquisition computer.

Original TOKNAV-supplied demonstration with embedded English instructions. Use the chapter buttons to jump to the selected step.

What this video shows

The video shows the physical parts of a multibeam package and the sequence used to connect them. Use it to prepare an integration checklist covering the vessel, sonar, sound velocity, navigation inputs, power and acquisition software. The exact vessel and payload revisions must be confirmed in the quotation.

Video chapters and operating notes

  1. The demonstration includes mechanical preparation. Use the approved mounting arrangement for your vessel.

  2. Review the transducer bracket and the cable route.

  3. The video shows a hull-mounted sound-velocity sensor. This installation step is not a demonstration of a complete water-column sound-velocity profile.

  4. Follow the supplied interface and power documentation; connector labels alone do not establish compatibility.

  5. The example includes regulated supplies and a deck unit. Verify the power budget and grounding for the delivered configuration.

  6. Connect sound-velocity and sonar interfaces using the equipment-specific wiring plan.

  7. Connect the computer and use a permanent service mount. Temporary tape in the demonstration is not the final mounting method.

Before specifying your equipment

Installation is followed by measurement of sensor offsets, navigation and attitude integration, time synchronization, applicable calibration and field quality checks. A hull-mounted sound-velocity sensor does not replace water-column profile measurements where those are required. Define coverage and uncertainty requirements before accepting a survey.
