    IMU Tilt Compensation RTK for Faster Survey on Slopes

    Much of Argentina’s land is sloped—from vineyards in Mendoza to road construction along mountainous areas. Traditional RTK receivers require surveyors to perfectly level the pole for every measurement, slowing work and increasing fatigue. The TOKNAV T45 eliminates this problem with IMU tilt compensation RTK technology, delivering accurate measurements even when tilted up to 60 degrees. The correction error remains under 2 centimeters, meeting strict accuracy standards for cadastral surveying, construction layout, and infrastructure work. Argentine field crews report reducing field time by 30–40% on sloped projects because they no longer need to stop and level the pole repeatedly. This IMU tilt compensation feature also eliminates “fly points” common with older equipment, ensuring clean, reliable data that imports smoothly into CAD and GIS software. For any team working on uneven ground, this feature alone makes TOKNAV a smarter choice.

    IP68 Rugged RTK Receiver for Extreme Environments

    Argentina’s climate varies widely, from extreme heat in the northern plains to cold, wet conditions in Patagonia and high-altitude mountain zones. Survey equipment must resist dust, moisture, drops, and temperature changes. Both the T45 receiver and tBase base station feature IP68 rugged RTK receiver construction with a durable magnesium alloy casing. They are fully waterproof, dustproof, and shock-resistant, able to withstand drops from 1.5 meters. The operating temperature range spans from -30°C to +65°C, making them suitable for summer heat and winter cold alike. The TSR20 SLAM scanner shares this rugged build quality, operating reliably from -20°C to +55°C. For Argentine field crews working long days in harsh conditions, this rugged design means less downtime, fewer repairs, and a lower total cost of ownership over time.

    TSR20 Handheld SLAM Scanner: 3D Mapping in GNSS-Denied Areas in Argentina

    Many Argentine projects require mapping in areas where GNSS signals are weak or unavailable: building interiors, underground parking facilities, tunnels, dense forests, and urban canyons surrounded by tall buildings. This is where the TOKNAV TSR20 handheld SLAM LiDAR scanner becomes indispensable. Designed for SLAM laser scanner performance without relying on satellite signals, the TSR20 captures precise 3D point clouds with or without GNSS. It delivers relative accuracy within 3cm and absolute accuracy within 5cm, making it ideal for architectural surveying, construction verification, infrastructure inspection, historical preservation, and indoor mapping.

  • ArcMap 10.8.2 Retirement: Survey Migration and GNSS Field Data Checklist

    ArcMap 10.8.2 Retirement: Survey Migration and GNSS Field Data Checklist

    ArcGIS Desktop, including ArcMap, retired on March 1, 2026. If your survey team still relies on ArcMap 10.8.2, the next step is to validate a supported office and field-data workflow—not to look for an unofficial download or assume that every existing project will transfer unchanged.

    This guide is for survey and GIS teams reviewing migration and GNSS data handover. TOKNAV supplies positioning and field equipment; we do not distribute ArcGIS installers, activation codes or cracked software.

    What changed after ArcMap retirement?

    Esri confirms the retirement in its ArcMap retirement announcement and ArcMap product life-cycle page. Retirement is a support milestone; it does not mean that every ArcGIS product or service has retired.

    Esri distinguishes perpetual and subscription licenses. A valid perpetual license may continue to run the retired software, while subscription access depends on the subscription term. Confirm your organization’s entitlement and support position directly with Esri or its authorized representative. Do not assume that ArcGIS Pro is automatically free for every ArcMap user.

    A migration checklist for survey teams

    1. Inventory the office workflow. List map documents, geodatabases, coordinate transformations, styles, reports, extensions, scripts and custom tools. Assign an owner to each business-critical deliverable.
    2. Check software and licensing. Review supported ArcGIS Pro versions, workstation requirements and organizational licensing with Esri. Keep installation and entitlement questions separate from the selection of field equipment.
    3. Test representative projects. Use copies of real project data, not the only production copy. Check imported maps, layers, symbology, labels and processing outputs rather than assuming that opening a document proves a successful migration.
    4. Review automation. Identify legacy Python scripts, add-ins and integrations. Validate each in the target environment and update it where required before replacing the production workflow.
    5. Validate field-data handover. Confirm file formats, coordinate system, units, height reference, feature schema and required positioning-quality fields. Test a small dataset from collection to the final office deliverable.
    6. Agree acceptance and rollout. Document comparison results, unresolved differences, backup arrangements and staff training. Move production work only after the responsible team accepts the test results.

    Where GNSS field collection fits

    Changing office GIS software does not automatically improve a field coordinate. The receiver, correction service, control checks and collection settings still need to be managed as one workflow.

    Start with TOKNAV GNSS receiver options when the task requires survey positioning, or review the rugged GIS field-collection range for mapping workflows. Confirm supported interfaces and output formats for the exact model and collection application before ordering.

    For projects using network corrections, our CORS/VRS solution overview provides the correction-path context. The controlled GIS field-data collection guide explains how to preserve coordinate and quality information through handover.

    Field-to-office acceptance checks

    • Coordinate-system identifiers and transformations are documented, including the vertical reference and geoid model where used.
    • A known control point is checked in the field and after import into the target office project.
    • Feature types, required attributes, units and identifiers survive export and import.
    • Quality information such as solution type and observation time is retained where the workflow provides it.
    • The final map, report or exported dataset is reviewed against the agreed project requirements.

    A visually plausible map is not sufficient evidence of a correct transformation. Keep the raw field records and comparison results so that differences can be investigated.

    Frequently asked questions

    Is this an ArcGIS 10.8.2 download page?

    No. Obtain software and licensing information through official Esri channels. This page covers migration planning and survey-data collection.

    Does ArcMap retirement mean all ArcGIS software has ended?

    No. The retirement applies to ArcGIS Desktop products described by Esri. Check the life cycle of the specific product and version your organization uses.

    Can a TOKNAV receiver be chosen only because a team uses ArcGIS Pro?

    No. Selection should be based on the field task, accuracy requirements, correction availability, collection application and validated handover formats. Software compatibility must be checked for the actual workflow.

    What should we send TOKNAV before a field-equipment consultation?

    Share your country, task, required positioning accuracy, correction method, collection application and intended output format. Do not send passwords, license keys or confidential project files.

    Review your GNSS-to-GIS workflow

    April Construction Peak: TokNav TMC10 Dozer Guidance System Boosts Efficiency

    April Construction Peak: TokNav TMC10 Dozer Guidance System Boosts Efficiency

    2026-04-16

    As April arrives, temperatures climb steadily, clearing the way for a nationwide construction boom. From large-scale infrastructure projects like highways and railways to urban buildings and rural road upgrades, most engineering projects kick off full-scale construction during this peak window. For construction teams, this busy season brings tight schedules and strict quality standards—making efficient, precise operations non-negotiable. At the forefront of every successful project lies two core pillars: professional engineering surveying and reliable mechanical control, which lay the foundation for smooth progress and on-time delivery.

    The Backbone of Construction: Engineering Surveying and the Pain Points of Traditional Methods

    Engineering mapping and construction surveying are the backbone of the entire building process. Tasks such as site setting-out, slope control and ground leveling demand pinpoint accuracy to avoid costly reworks and material waste. Even minor measurement deviations can lead to major issues: uneven surfaces, incorrect slopes or structural errors that compromise safety. Unfortunately, traditional construction methods still widely used in the industry struggle to keep pace with modern demands, creating productivity bottlenecks.

    Limitations of Conventional Dozer Operation in Construction Survey and Engineering Mapping

    Conventional dozer operation relies heavily on manual surveying, marking and operator experience. Surveyors spend hours setting up stakes and measuring gradients, wasting labor and exposing workers to safety risks. This process is slow, labor-intensive and prone to human error—weather, visibility issues or calculation mistakes all lead to accuracy gaps. Operators must constantly refer to manual markers, often resulting in uneven digging or rework. For large-scale projects, these inefficiencies quickly add up: extended timelines, inflated costs and compromised quality, which can’t meet high-volume, high-precision demands during the construction peak.

    TokNav TMC10 Dozer Guidance System: The Solution to High-Precision Construction Challenges

    To solve these industry pain points, TokNav GNSS has launched the advanced TokNav TMC10 Dozer Guidance System, a cutting-edge 3D intelligent solution designed for bulldozers. Engineered for precision and user-friendliness, this system integrates high-performance GNSS satellite positioning and IMU inertial measurement sensors, breaking free from manual limitations. It delivers real-time, centimeter-level positioning data, turning ordinary bulldozers into smart, precise machines that elevate on-site work.

    The TokNav TMC10’s standout advantage is its 2cm positioning accuracy across all operating conditions. Unlike manual surveying, which relies on favorable weather and carries errors, this system maintains stable performance even in harsh environments—fog, wind, dust or low light. By combining dual-mode GNSS and dynamic IMU sensing, it captures real-time data on the dozer’s position, blade height and slope angle, displaying intuitive guidance on the in-cab screen. Operators no longer need external markers or manual measurements, receiving live prompts to adjust the blade precisely for perfect results with every pass.

    Beyond precision, the TMC10 drastically boosts efficiency—critical during the April rush. Manual surveying is minimized or eliminated, cutting pre-construction time by hours daily. Dozers operate continuously without frequent stops, keeping projects on schedule. This efficiency also reduces labor costs (fewer surveyors needed) and eliminates over-excavation, lowering material waste and overall expenses. For firms handling multiple projects, this speed and savings significantly boost profitability and client satisfaction.

    Versatility and Durability: TokNav TMC10 Adapts to Diverse High-Precision Construction Scenarios

    Versatility is another key strength of the TMC10, suitable for diverse spring construction scenarios: land leveling for housing, slope cutting for highways, foundation excavation for commercial buildings, and rural road reconstruction. It’s compatible with most mainstream bulldozer models, with a user-friendly interface that requires minimal training, letting operators master the system quickly without downtime.

    Durability is built into every component, engineered to withstand tough construction site conditions—dust, vibration, water and extreme temperatures. This rugged design minimizes downtime, keeping equipment operational throughout the busy peak. Paired with TokNav’s professional technical support, the system provides long-term peace of mind for all project scales.

    As the April construction rush peaks, teams race to meet deadlines and control costs. Outdated methods are no longer viable, and the TokNav TMC10 stands out as a game-changer, merging centimeter-level accuracy, intelligent guidance and durability into one package. It transforms standard bulldozers into smart assets, solving the core problems of inefficiency and errors.

    The TMC10 isn’t just equipment—it’s a competitive advantage. By adopting it, firms complete projects faster, maintain stricter quality, cut costs and improve safety, turning peak season chaos into an efficient workflow.

    For projects aiming to speed up, improve quality and cut costs, the TokNav TMC10 is the ideal partner. Equip your fleet with this solution to leave behind manual delays and errors, staying ahead of the competition during the busiest season.

    GNSS Signal Blocked? Try This IoT-Assisted Rapid Re-survey Method for Engineering Control Networks – Millimeter-Level Accuracy & Doubled Efficiency

    2025-04-14

    Friends in surveying and engineering must have encountered the same frustrating problem – control network re-survey, especially in scenarios with severe GNSS signal obstruction (such as mountainous areas, factories, and dam surroundings), which is simply “an arduous task”!

    Control networks are like the “eyes” of a project. Regular re-survey is essential to ensure the reliability of subsequent construction and monitoring. However, common re-survey methods on the market either have limited application scenarios or are inefficient to the point of frustration. Today, I will share a practically proven solution – an IoT-assisted rapid re-survey method for engineering control networks, which achieves millimeter-level accuracy and doubles efficiency in actual tests!

    IoT-Assisted Rapid Re-survey Method for Engineering Control Networks System Architecture

    Perception layer: The protagonist is the “remote-controlled prism” – we have modified ordinary prisms to adjust their orientation remotely, eliminating the need for manual adjustment at control points, which is the key to improving efficiency;

    Network transmission layer: LoRa technology is adopted. You may not be familiar with this technology, but its advantages are obvious – long transmission distance and strong anti-interference ability. Even in complex environments such as mountainous areas and dams, it can stably transmit control signals. It is worth mentioning that all Toknav’s RTK devices have the same advantages as LoRa technology and can also achieve stable transmission in complex surveying scenarios. For more information, you can check out

    Application layer: It is the control software we operate, with a simple interface. It can remotely control the prism orientation, view measurement data, and realize full-process visualization, making operation very simple.

    The entire re-survey process is also very simple: deploy remote-controlled prisms at each control point, the operator operates the total station at a fixed position, remotely adjusts the prism orientation through the application layer software, and the total station automatically completes angle and distance measurement. No need to travel back and forth between control points, completing the task in one step.

    Actual Test Verification: Accuracy Uncompromised, Efficiency Doubled!

    Talking the talk is not enough; walking the walk is. We conducted an experiment on an actual project (the plane control network of a hydropower station dam), comparing the re-survey effects of the “IoT-assisted method” and the “total station only” method. The results were really surprising!

    Accuracy: The re-survey accuracy of the two methods is completely consistent, reaching sub-millimeter level, which fully meets the re-survey requirements of engineering control networks, so there is no need to worry about accuracy degradation;

    Efficiency: Taking working hours as the indicator, the efficiency of the IoT-assisted method is about 107% higher than that of using only the total station – simply put, a re-survey task that used to take two days can now be completed in one day, saving half the time directly!

    More importantly, this method does not rely on GNSS signals. As long as there is line of sight between control points (a basic requirement for traditional total station measurement), it can work normally no matter how severe the surrounding obstruction is. Many actual engineering control networks are laid out as angle-distance networks, which are just suitable for this method, with broad application prospects.

    Summary & Future Outlook

    In summary, this IoT-assisted rapid re-survey method for engineering control networks perfectly solves the pain points of traditional methods: “low efficiency, tiring labor, and limited scenarios”:

    No manual trips to control points to adjust prisms, with full automation, reducing labor costs and safety risks;

    The accuracy is consistent with that of traditional total stations, reaching sub-millimeter level, meeting engineering needs;

    It does not rely on GNSS signals and can easily handle scenarios with severe obstruction, with a wider scope of application;

    Efficiency is increased by 107%, greatly shortening the re-survey period.

    Of course, this method still has a small regret – it has not been applied in complex terrain (such as high mountain canyons) or ultra-large-scale control networks. In the future, we will continue to improve, and strive to verify it in more complex scenarios, so that this method can help more friends in engineering and surveying.

    If your project also encounters problems of GNSS signal obstruction and low re-survey efficiency, you may wish to try this method – it has been proven useful in actual tests! If you have any related questions, you can also leave a message in the comment area to communicate~
