TAG66 vs TAG88: steering or land leveling?

Start with what you want the machine to control. TAG66 uses an electric steering system for guided vehicle travel. TAG88 uses GNSS positioning and a leveling controller to operate a hydraulic leveling setup. Match the system to the tractor, implement and field task.

THE PRACTICAL DIFFERENCES

Compare the field workflow

Consider TAG66 for guided driving

Review TAG66 when the goal is following planned field paths with an electric steering-wheel system. Confirm the tractor’s steering arrangement, mounting, power supply and correction setup.

Consider TAG88 for land leveling

Review TAG88 when the task is shaping a field to a planned flat or sloped surface. Confirm the leveling implement, hydraulic valve, GNSS reference and control installation.

These systems control different parts of the agricultural workflow. A steering accuracy statement and a leveling accuracy statement are not interchangeable measures of performance. Shared display specifications do not make the systems substitutes. Confirm the supplied kit, installation requirements, correction service and commissioning procedure for your machine.

SELECTION QUESTIONS

TAG66 vs TAG88 FAQ

Are TAG66 and TAG88 two versions of the same function?

They address different control tasks. TAG66 is an electric auto-steering system; TAG88 is a GNSS land-leveling system with a leveling ECU and hydraulic control components. Start by defining whether you need steering guidance or surface leveling.

Which should I consider for following field passes?

Review TAG66 for the vehicle guidance and steering task. Confirm tractor fitment, steering components, working patterns, correction availability and the calibration procedure with the proposed configuration.

Which should I consider for flat or sloped land leveling?

Review TAG88 for the leveling task. Share the implement, hydraulic arrangement, target field surface, GNSS correction source and the required level-control workflow.

Can the two systems be combined on one machine?

Treat that as an integration review rather than an assumed plug-and-play combination. Provide the tractor, implement, existing controllers, electrical supply and hydraulic details so TOKNAV can confirm a suitable arrangement.

Do the common 12-inch displays make their kits interchangeable?

No. The control hardware and machine interfaces differ. TAG66’s steering components and TAG88’s leveling ECU and hydraulic valve need to be specified for their respective tasks.

What information is needed for a quotation?

Send your country, tractor and implement models, the task to automate, available corrections and any equipment already fitted. Photos and details of the steering or hydraulic installation help define the required kit.
